Taking a modern interpretation on traditional blues music, the Lovell sister’s performance is like a breath of fresh air to the blues scene! After a sell-out Australian run in 2019, blues sisters Larkin Poe are back to play even bigger venues and fulfil their 2020 cancelled tour plans for New Zealand.

Larkin Poe create a unique brand of gritty, southern-fried blues, roots ‘n’ roll. Rebecca Lovell’s voice is full, comforting and charismatic as is seamlessly blends into her big sister Megan’s gospel-like backing vocals.

Both performing as multi-instrumentalists, it’s Megan that often steals the show, providing the perfect balance with some cracking lap steal solos; their performances that have garnered plenty of high-profile admirers such as Elvis Costello, Keith Urban, Bob Seger and Russell Crowe.

In the extraordinary year that was 2020, Larkin Poe continued to be extraordinary, releasing not one, but two albums; ‘Self Made Man’ in June and ‘Kindred Spirits’ in November, the latter housing a fine collection of stripped-back versions of classics and new covers.

The latest full-length from Larkin Poe, Blood Harmony is a whole-hearted invitation into a world they know intimately, a Southern landscape so precisely conjured you can feel the sticky humidity of the warm summer air.

“We have such fond memories of our upbringing and experiencing the beauty of Southern hospitality in its truest form—it’s a very loving and inclusive energy,” says Rebecca, Larkin Poe’s lead vocalist/lyricist. “There’s an idea that we don’t walk alone, and that there’s safety in keeping your door open to anyone and everyone. What we try to share through our music is the emotional equivalent of opening your door to everyone and inviting them in for sweet tea.”
