Waihōpai/Ōtepoti psych reggae band Left Or Right are pumped to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2012 album Buzzy with 3 South Island shows - their first and only shows for 2022.
The original Buzzy LP was a limited press of 300 'Fruju Orange' double albums of which a large number never made it back to these shores from the United States. With the NZ based records long since selling out the lads finally got the rest of the stock home to the deep south earlier this year, and will have copies available exclusively at the 3 shows.
The album opens with lead single "Looking For A Tennis Ball", an ode to one of Aotearoa's favourite summer pastimes: backyard cricket. How many songs do you know that could get away with the line "The tennis ball is the same bloody colour as the garden" and actually make sense?
But, as anyone who has been following the band for the last decade (and the rest!) knows, getting hold of LOR's albums and loving them is only the beginning. If you want to catch them at the zenith of their powers you really need to witness their explosive, jam-tastic live show.
This December, Left Or Right will perform the Buzzy LP from start to finish followed by material from their long awaited fourth album. Joining them for this special Ōtautahi show are the quite excellent Scrooge!
