Illusive Presents and Frontier Touring are excited to announce Grammy Award- winning producer and acclaimed hip-hop artist Pi’erre Bourne will embark on an exclusive run of dates in Australia and New Zealand this December, following on from his critically acclaimed 2021 album The Life of Pi’erre 5 and the release of Yo!88 in collaboration with TM88.

Returning to New Zealand after opening for superstar Drake on his massive sold-out Boy Meets World arena tour in 2017, this is Pi’erre Bourne’s first headlining tour Down Under.

The celebrated artist and highly sought-after hip-hop producer says he will bring the energy to his fans around the world like never before on his global Good Movie tour at Auckland’s Powerstation on Saturday 17 December.

Emerging as one of the leading rap producers of the late 2010s, scoring major hits with Playboi Carti’s breakout hit Magnolia, 6ix9ine’s Gummo and topping the album charts with Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake – in addition to working with Kanye West, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Young Thug and Young Nudy – Pi’erre Bourne has reshaped the sound of modern hip-hop and become one of rap’s most in-demand producers. Along the way, he’s amassed more than 220 million streams on Spotify with more than 2.6 monthly listeners.

Also active as a rapper, he is known for his mixtapes showcasing his atmospheric beats and auto-tuned crooning. He grabbed the hip-hop world’s attention when he produced Magnolia, shifting the landscape of hip-hop production. He later received acclaim for Sli'merre, his 2019 mixtape with frequent collaborator Young Nudy and recently collaborated with the legendary Juicy J on Space Age Pimpin’.

In 2021, Pi’erre won his first Grammy Award for his production work on Kanye West’s Jesus Is King album. Later that year, he hit number 35 on the Billboard 200 with his second studio album, the lauded The Life of Pi'erre 5 (released on Interscope via Pi’erre’s label imprint SossHouse), featuring appearances by Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and Sharc. Rolling Stone Australia listed The Life of Pi’erre 5 at number 9 in their “20 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2021”, stating, “Pi’erre is smooth, commanding the contours of his production to make some of the year’s most genuinely fun music” and “Pi’erre Bourne just might be on his way to a Kanye-esque crossover ... essentially reshaping the sound of modern hip-hop before being able to even buy a drink.”

Then, of course, there’s Pi’erre’s world-famous producer tagline, lifted from an old sketch on The Jamie Foxx Show – “Yo Pi'erre, you wanna come out here?” – becoming a viral phenomenon.

Pitchfork declared in 2020, “You can’t have a conversation about the best rap producers of the last few years without mentioning Pi’erre Bourne”, and he has made his name cranking out beats that pair airy video-game melodies with classic trap drums. His breakthrough 2016 mixtape series The Life of Pi’erre was recorded while working as an engineer at Epic Records in Atlanta, with the trilogy becoming the foundation for his future sound, full of dreamy production and his own light-hearted, lovestruck singing.
