Coterie first ever headline tour of New Zealand

Tuesday 22 November 2022

Aotearoa it’s time. Coterie are stoked to announce that they will be touring New Zealand, playing four special headline shows across the country in March 2023. Hailing from Perth on the peaceful coastline of Western Australia, Coterie have taken Aotearoa by storm with their infectious surf-infused grooves over the past 24 months. Their Platinum-Certified breakthrough hit ‘Cool It Down’ has become an anthem throughout the country that was recently re-released in Te Reo Māori. Having just announced their debut self titled album (out Dec 9), Coterie are showing now signs of slowing down.

With undeniable on-stage power, word of Coterie’s electrifying live performances is getting around. The four Māori siblings of Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Te Rāngi descent, share a unique bond formed from over 15 years of jamming together. Currently on tour supporting SIX60 on their record breaking SIX60 SATURDAYS Stadium Tour of New Zealand, Coterie have played to thousands of fans each night, winning  the crowds over in every centre and are excited to announce their first ever headline tour of New Zealand.

Coterie will begin their tour in Ōtautahi, Christchurch playing The James Hay Theatre on Friday 3 March, before playing The Yard in sunny Raglan on Sunday 5 March. From there, Coterie will play Meow in Wellington on Friday 10 March before wrapping up at Auckland’s iconic Powerstation on Friday 17 March.

2022 has seen the band kick some major goals. They played sold-out shows across the ditch in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne & Perth, plus playing support on all six of SIX60’s Stadium Tour shows, and now their debut album due for release in December. Their platinum smash ‘Cool It Down’ hit #1 on the NZ Radioscope Chart, #1 on Shazam, #1 on the Hot 20 NZ Singles Chart, and peaked at #26 on the Spotify Top 200 where it has spent over 6 months. Over the past two years, Coterie have amassed more than 10 million streams, 1.7 million YouTube views, and seen a swell of dedicated Coterie fans form around them.

Coterie blends an authentic mix of surf rock, soul, R&B, roots/reggae and blues into heartfelt melodies that unite audiences by a mysterious power. Between lead singer Tyler’s powerhouse vocals, bassist Brandford’s playful low end to Joshua’s all-encompassing mood and Conrad’s powerful shredding, Coterie are a musical force to be reckoned with and are fast becoming known as the most electrifying live act on both sides of the Tasman.
